Review: The Master of all Desires

Setting: Paris and France
Period: late 1500s
The Master of all Desires, by Judith Merkle Riley, is more of a light-hearted fantasy romp than most historical fiction books, with a decidedly ghoulish sense of humour. If you enjoy a macabre wit, and a dash of the occult, you will get a kick out of this book.

Featuring appearances by Catherine de Medici, an ageing Nostradamus, and a fierce heroine, Lady Sibille, it is a page-turner, set in Paris and its environs.
