About the author

Trevi Fountain, Rome. October 2013

Belinda Darcey lives in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Born and raised in Papua New Guinea, she has lived in Australia and the United States, and traveled extensively through Europe and South East Asia. She speaks English, French and just enough German to get into trouble. On rare occasions, she’s able to decipher fragments of ‘Ancient Roman.’

At university, she majored in Women’s Studies, with a focus on Art History and Literature. Having worked in the travel industry for seven years—first as a travel agent planning custom luxury itineraries, then as a wholesale tour operator agent—she understands travel from the inside out. She delivers solid logistical advice to minimize stress and delays, coupled with stories about each sight to make the experience meaningful.

She writes for those who yearn to step outside their daily routine and into another world: to feast their eyes on sumptuous art, walk through ornate palaces and gardens, gaze at gorgeous scenery, indulge in gourmet treats, dreamy moments and of course, squeeze in a little quality shopping for one-of-a-kind souvenirs.
